One thing about Singapore which strikes just about any traveller is the opulence of the historic hotels that dot the city. In particular Raffles Hotel gives the patron a sense of real history and luxury from a time long ago. This year Raffles will be celebrating its 125th anniversary. So many memories must be imprinted within its walls.
Today I treated myself to a glass of wine (Puilly Fume) which cost a whopping $35 US. later I headed to the world famous “Long Bar” for a Singapore Sling. This was the birthplace of that fantastic cocktail.
Singapore is known throughout the world for very expensive drink prices. A beer in Clarke Quay set me back $20 US.
