A place that has truly opened to western tourism and is now becoming a major part of South East Asia’s regional economy. In Vietnam I found many new friends, some of whom I became incredibly close to. This is a place where tremendous growth and renewal in my heart and mind occurred.

I stayed in Hoi An (near Denang) for about a month and once again took up residence to experience this nation as an expat. Vietnam was a mixture of modernity and old world. It had its own character and again it feels to me now as though I was in this place many years ago.

The history of war and oppression can be seen and felt in its old stone walls. The brightness of its future can be seen in it’s children’s smiles.
