my room is a minor travel miracle. I kept things flexible these past few days and have found a last minute deal at the Four Seasons. Thanks to I am saving a whopping 70% on my room rate. I also did my customary call to the front desk and asked to speak to a duty manager. I requested a high floor with a view and also a non smoking room. The young lady was very accommodating and helpful. Before the call ended I advised that I was celebrating a very special occasion. The occasion for me is of course that I am soon heading to my new home in Toronto, Canada. Upon check in the very same manager I spoke with greeted me at the desk. I was then promptly given a double upgrade to a suite overlooking a golf course. No extra charges. Once again a smile and politeness followed by a well-dressed look, gave me the trappings of a first class life for what would normally be the cost of an average 4 star hotel. In about two weeks I will be in my new home country. This journey has been quite epic and there have been great discoveries about myself as much as their have been of the planet. That is what makes travel the most worthwhile in my view. It’s the journey of oneself as well as the journey of the continents.
