The annual Songkran festival has just come to a close. For a few days, as you walked in public, you would be doused with water (just about anywhere). It was very similar to the celebrations of “holy” in India where people would throw colour dyes at each other.
I went out with a few new travel friends and was summarily soaked through with buckets of water in one minute after leaving the taxi.
the last few days have been very wild. I believe that a number of Australian university students were on a break because they were all just running around drunk out of their minds and partying like I had not seen since High School. It was great as I was part of it.
Random cars would drive along the road and stop next to you. Roll down the window and spray with you water guns that looked more like military grade bazookas. Took the idea of drive by shooting to a new level.
